Jessica is the cartoonist herself, clothed in ink, walking in the NPAM world.
Lily is a spunky girl who sees the best in people. Though she’s pushy, opinionated, and prone to fits of dramatic passion, Lily’s up-front nature makes her an honest and earnest friend. She likes eating sweets and having fun.
Champ is incredibly smart, friendly, athletic, thoughtful, and skilled in a wide range of areas. He enjoys knitting, baking, and contemplating the nature of the universe. His one insecurity is his hat; he thinks he looks silly without it.
Sera Sophia is a child of nature, defending dandelions and protesting pollution. She has more than a drop of fairy blood in her veins. She’s very shy, but wholly sweet to those she loves.
Dart is a merboy, best friend to Sera Sophia. Generally optimistic with a playful streak, Dart ventures quite close to human areas, most often to look for cast-off “treasure” or to prank the tourists. He’s as wild and free as the ocean itself, but in the end always finds himself back at a certain little beach with a certain girl he adores.
Tyler, the child of successful celebrities, lives with his Aunt Patty in the manor on the hill. Though materially rich, he’s often melancholy and anxious, turning to art and poetry for self-expression. He has synesthesia.
Herriman is Tyler’s cat, named for one of the great cartoonists of history. This feline friend is contemplative and intelligent, and everyone dotes on him.
